Performance Testing

Performance testing is critical for any application and integrated systems are no exception. The more integrated the system, the more complicated performance testing is. Often the setup of a performance test can take days. Although Solstice is not a performance testing tool, it is very useful in reducing set up time.
There are two primary ways that Solstice makes life easier for performance test teams. First, Solstice can isolate a component instead of having to assemble an entire process and driving a test through a GUI. Because Solstice’s tests are captured at each intermediate step, an individual system can be isolated and messages fired directly to a system. Solstice provides a replay throttle that allows users to control the speed at which messages are sent to an application. The distributed architecture of Solstice’s protocol server that serves up the messages permits messages to be sent from various geographic locations while centrally coordinated.
Second, Solstice’s Simulation capability can replace connecting systems or databases that are required for process operation but may not be readily available. Eliminating the setup time for associated systems and databases surrounding a test is probably the biggest time saver for performance tests.
